Lost and Found U Cards

Learn the steps to take if you lose your U Card or find someone else's.

Is your U Card lost?

If you lose your U Card, you should deactivate it.

If the U Card Office receives your U Card, we will notify you immediately through your University email address.

  • You must bring a government-issued photo ID to pick up your U Card.
  • If your U Card is stolen and you bring your police report, we will waive the replacement fee for your U Card.

After hours

Twin Cities students who lose their U Card outside of our business hours can:

  • Get a temporary access card from their residence hall front desk.
  • Use their student ID number displayed on MyU to use meal swipes.

Did you find a lost U Card?

If you find a lost U Card, return it to any campus U Card location. An after-hours drop box is available at the Coffman Memorial Union location on the Twin Cities campus.

You can also mail the U Card to the address on the back. As long as the address on the back is visible, dropping the card in a public mailbox will return it to us.

The U Card Office cannot give out any of the U Card holder's information or contact the U Card holder on your behalf for security and privacy reasons.
