U Card Office COVID-19 Update

Mailing U Cards:
The University of Minnesota Twin Cities U Card Office does not mail U Cards. 

Groups must contact the U Card Office for appointments:
The U Card Office is currently operating by appointment only for individuals. We are currently only accepting groups who have a prearranged time with the U Card Office. Please email [email protected] to schedule your group.

Coffman Memorial Union Doors: 
Please be aware that at this time you will need an active U Card to gain access to Coffman Memorial Union. As a reminder, we can troubleshoot most U Card issues via email. Please email [email protected] before making an appointment to come to the U Card Office. If you do not have a U Card and you need to obtain one, please have someone escort you to Coffman (using social distancing) or open the door for you. If that is not possible, please call our front desk when you arrive at Coffman (612-626-9900) and we will direct you to the door or staff member can open for you. Please be aware we may not be able to let you in immediately. 

U Card Office Operations: 
Starting April 1st, the U Card Office will be open by appointment only. Appointments will only be available on Mondays and Thursdays.

We are unable to accept cash in our office at this time. Please come prepared with an alternative form of payment such as a credit/debit card or Gopher GOLD. 

We would like to encourage our customers to utilize our photo upload system to limit the amount of time in our office. To upload a photo for your U Card, please visit z.umn.edu/photoupload.

If you are experiencing issues with your U Card or have general inquiry questions we ask that you please email us at [email protected] or call our front desk at 612-626-9900. In most circumstances, we will be able to resolve issues and answer questions and you will not need to visit our office.

We are making every effort to not handle any cards, IDs or payments. If you plan to visit our office please be aware of this and read the signage at the front stations. We thank you for understanding.

Until further notice, all Cash-To-Gopher GOLD Stations are out of service.
