1st Year Students will receive their U Card from the U Card Office during their advisement and registration session.

Transfer students will receive a U Card at their advisement and registration session. If you have a U Card from a UMN coordinate campus (Twin Cities, Rochester, Duluth, Morris), we do still ask that you get a UMN Duluth U Card as the Duluth U Card has different technology on the card.

PSEO students can receive their U Card at the U Card Office during their Orientation.

If you receive a U Card as a PSEO student and then apply and are accepted to the UMN Duluth for your Undergraduate Education, you will use the same U Card. You are only eligible for a free U Card every 5 years.

CIS teachers may request that U Cards be mailed to their classroom by submitting student's photos to the U Card Office via the express online form. To start this process please email umducard@d.umn.edu and note you are inquiring about receiving U Cards for your CIS class.

If you are a full time online student at the University of Minnesota Duluth you may request that your U Card be mailed to you. However, this process may take up to 2 weeks as we must go through a verification process. Please email umducard@d.umn.edu if you are a full time online student at UMD and you would like to start the process of receiving your U Card.

Staff and Faculty will receive their U Card at the U Card Office in Kirby Plaza.
